Portrait – A Poem

Standard

I know a woman.
Today she is a mother.
Tomorrow she is a martyr.

I know a man.
Today he is a father.
Tomorrow he is a saviour.

I know a girl.
Today she is a sister.
Tomorrow she is a sinner.

I know a boy.
Today he is a brother.
Tomorrow he is a stranger.

I know a people.
Today they are a family.
Tomorrow they are a memory.
And I never really knew them at all.
