Four Stanzas – A Poem

Standard

I’m dying
Rushing along hygienic halls
Spewing blood and last confessions
My green heart beats then fades

I’m floating
Blinded by the light and yet still able to see
My body being ripped apart
I’m cheering for the intrusion

I’m leaving
This world no longer holds anything for me
Only my daughter, my lover, my anger, my happiness, my life
I’ve just remembered I’ve left the electric blanket on

I’m living
I ache all over and my heart is exposed
But I’ve never been so happy to see my own blood
My two halves are whole again
And my bed is warm and waiting for me
